    • His father was Jean Baptiste Letendre who married Josephte Crise the “indian way”. Francois was a rich business-man Metis who settled at Batoche in 1872. He and Marguerite had 15 children. Between 1881-1884 he and Gabriel Dumont built a church and rectory at Batoche. During the rebellion he kept to the background.
